The base fabrics are manufactured in the UK but the lamination process is carried out in Europe as there is no company in the UK that can meet the standards required.
All the components are sourced in the UK but some, like toggles for pull cords, are made abroad, as to the best of our knowledge none are made in the UK.

An Insight into Aclimatise®
Aclimatise is the clothing brand created by APT Fabrics Ltd to offer innovative clothing systems manufactured in the UK; What does Apt fabrics do? It's a simple question, but the answer is much, much harder. You could say that we provide technical and performance fabrics, and that would be true - but you would have neglected to mention our research and design side, which develops fabrics on a par with any of its competitors.
You would also have failed to mention that not only do we design and supply our own performance fabrics, but we also offer a bespoke service that can find the perfect material for our clients in as little as two weeks. That's not to mention the fact that the company holds training seminars for other organisations, design optimisation services and has its own specialised fabric brands.
Yes, APT Fabrics is an impressive organisation, even more so when you consider that it is not even 8 years old.
The membrane laminated to the external fabric is composed of a hydrophilic aliphatic polyether-urethane with 30% of metallic aluminum ( this gives a high heat-reflecting capacity) based on the mass of the polymer. The membrane is waterproof and breathable: the polymer is hydrophilic and transports moisture produced by the body perspiration by a chemical process called "Molecular diffusion".
Hydrophilic groups on the polymer chain transport water molecules ( by hydrogen bond) from the side with higher relative humidity (body side) to the side with lower humidity (outside), the efficiency of this process is dependant also on the difference of temperature between the two sides of the membrane.
